Recognizing this year’s best Crestron projects, with bragging rights to boot

Now it’s time to get the recognition you deserve.

It's time again for you, our dealers to submit their work for the annual Crestron Home Technology Awards. If you win, you’ll receive much more than a badge for your website and a charming trophy: Your work will be the focus of a Crestron case study, featured on the crestron.com website and social media channels, sent to relevant journalists, and shared by Crestron salespeople across the globe.

Last year’s winners were nothing short of spectacular: From an estate that could entertain thousands of party guests with the push of a button to a home with lighting so advanced it could rival any art gallery in the world, the 2023 winners are masterpieces of creativity and precision. The judges can’t wait to see this year’s crop of stellar entrants.

Crestron will accept residential projects completed between July 2023 and July 2024, and winners will be honored at CEDIA® Expo in Denver this September. A panel of judges with expertise in Crestron technology installations will determine the honorees in a variety of categories.

What’s Being Judged

Like last year, the following categories for 2024 will be:

• Ultimate Crestron Home
• Ultimate Multi-Dwelling Unit
• Best Design Meets Technology
• Best Entertainment Everywhere Solution
• The Health and Wellness Home of the Year
• Best Integration Utilizing Crestron Partners/Extensions
• Best Shading Application
• Best Lighting Application
• Best Showroom/Demo Space

Each judge will separately score each entry from 0-10 (10 being the highest) based on a combination of the information provided in the awards’ online entry form and the supporting photos and videos for each of the following categories:

1. Overall quality of entry submission
2. Did the solution solve the challenge?
3. Actual End User satisfaction (End User’s own words)
4. Uniqueness
5. Visual score (Review of imagery and videos)

The top-scoring entry in each awards category will be named the winner for that category. Any tying entries will be deemed co-winners — as was the case in 2023 when two projects took the prize for the “Ultimate Crestron Home.”

It's an opportunity for them to showcase their expertise and be acknowledged for their outstanding contributions to the industry.”

Crestron integrators can enter as many projects as they desire for consideration in the categories we’ve listed above. And, yes, a single submission may be eligible for multiple categories — but it’s important to ensure the text of the submission outlines why your project fits each category you’re entering.

Photos are a Must — and Video is a Plus

The online submission form is designed to walk you through the process — but it’s still imperative that entrants are thorough and thoughtful. Answer each question as completely as you can, and provide all the details you can muster.

Remember: Photos of the entered projects are fundamental to the process — it’s a must that the judging panel can see what they’re grading. Your entry will need to include images no smaller than 300 DPI / 5”x8” in PNG or JPEG format, complete with photo credits. If professional photography is too time-consuming or cost-prohibitive, smartphone images are acceptable, and there are multiple guides online for taking real estate or interior design photos from a phone — and those tips certainly apply for connected home photos. (Here’s an example to get you started.)

If you really want to drive home just what that smart home can do, including a short video that best showcases your project is incredibly helpful. Please don’t send links to videos, however — those won’t be accepted. Videos no more than five minutes long should be uploaded to the awards site.

This year's awards event will not only be a celebration of the Crestron Home Tech Awards but will also feature a special award dedicated to Crestron DM NVX® Technology. “Entries have been flooding in over the past few months for the Crestron DM NVX Technology Awards, where we invited you to share your extraordinary DM NVX projects,” Says Short. “Behind every pixel and endless possibilities enabled by DM NVX technology lies a remarkable achievement, and we plan to recognize and showcase this unique solution and winner.”

You can enter directly here — however, any projects entered into the Crestron Home Technology Awards “Entertainment Everywhere” category will also be entered in this category automatically.
