March 23, 2021 - Exhibition Hub is launching a brand-new project in the Brussels Horta Gallery. In Klimt, The Immersive Experience, the oeuvre of the Austrian Art Nouveau painter now comes to life thanks to the wonderful world of immersive technologies and Barco visualization.
Gustav Klimt is a man of many talents, one of the most striking modern artists, pioneer of Art Nouveau and revolutionary leader of radical change in both architecture and later also the visual arts. "The idea behind this exhibition and our motivation is to introduce our visitors to this outstanding artist in a fantastic way," says Mario Iacampo, CEO of Exhibition Hub, a Brussels business specialized in curating, producing and distributing exceptional immersive exhibitions across the world using new technologies.
"Klimt, The Immersive Experience provides an overview of the artist's masterpieces, and a surprising view of his life and career. In doing so, we use the most advanced technologies for a totally 360° immersive experience. We don't just bring his paintings to life... Our ultimate goal is to lift its aesthetics to the highest level."
Barco projection as the enabler for immersive experiences
The immersive gallery of the Klimt exhibition dives you into the artist's world with more than 200 of his works transformed into digital content by Dirty Monitor and projected in an animated, creative and surprising way to the tones of Beethoven's 9th symphony. Barco G60-W7s, which were brought in by our distribution partner AED and installed by TCF, deliver a 1000m² canvas that brings the digital artworks to life and immerse visitors in an unforgettable 360° experience.
Peter Pauwels, EMEA Sales VP in Barco, is proud that the Barco technology can be part of this unique art experience in Belgium.
"Since many years, we are working closely with leading international parties to promote the use of visualization technology in museums as an enabler for immersive story-telling. It's amazing that we can now also work together on such an experience in Brussels with Exhibition Hub and the other Belgium-based partners. We are looking forward to a continuation of this collaboration in future projects."
Pauwels concludes with "a warm call for visitors to be safe, but also to come and see this magnificent exhibition to support the artists and arthouses." You can visit Klimt, The Immersive Experience, an astonishing journey full of surprises for young and old, from March 24th to September 5th in the Brussels Horta Gallery.
