Model: ClickShare CX-30
With over 20,000 units deployed in the field, Barco’s ClickShare product is rapidly gaining a strong following in many companies around the world. Now the challenge is to administer large-scale deployments – especially when the units are distributed over a number of buildings and locations in the organization. Depending on the size of a company’s ClickShare fleet, keeping track of, updating or maintaining all the Base Units and Buttons manually can cause significant workload for the IT staff.
Therefore, Barco is introducing the ClickShare Management Suite. This user-friendly, web-based tool – available for free download from the Barco website – allows administrators to keep all Base Units performing in optimal condition, without having to leave their desks.
Managing all ClickShare units, worldwide
After installing the software on a (virtual) Linux server, the ClickShare Management Suite program can be used from any location via a web browser, allowing the units’ health status to be checked, and a number of management tasks to be performed, remotely. All ClickShare Base Units can be updated with new firmware versions in one go – and these can be installed directly, or scheduled for installation outside office hours to prevent meeting downtime. Furthermore, the Base Units can be assigned to different locations and users to keep things organized and ensure optimum usability.
Ease of use and maintenance
“With the ClickShare Management Suite, we’re taking ClickShare’s ease-of-use to a new level,” says Jan Willem Brands, VP Collaboration at Barco. “Maintaining ClickShare now becomes just as simple as using ClickShare. This can all be done from a central position, so just one administrator can manage all of the company’s units, wherever they are located. Also, because updates can be scheduled flexibly, there’s no system downtime. This new, free software ensures that the company’s entire ClickShare fleet is in optimal condition and using the same firmware version in every meeting room.”
