The leading cloud-based service and software for connecting, building and managing Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, Axeda presented the award at its annual Connexion Conference in Boston, Massachusetts on May 9th. Winners were selected based on their ability to showcase the Axeda Machine Cloud, as well as skills and expertise in developing innovative solutions across the Internet of Things technology platform.
“Axeda is privileged to work with the most innovative customers in our industry who have achieved transformational results,” said Jeff Melvin Executive Vice President for Sales at Axeda. “It’s an honor to recognize companies like Barco that are leveraging the IoT to deliver essential business value. Barco’s ability to address theater owners’ specific information needs and provide functionality at the end-user level with CineCare Web is a true mark of ‘inclusive’ innovation, providing value across the deployment chain.”
Pioneering “Big Data” in the Cinema World
As one of the earliest adopters of Axeda’s IoT platform, Barco is pioneering solutions that will enable movie exhibitors to efficiently capture and utilize big data to conduct predictive business analytics. CineCare Web is a remote cinema monitoring tool that enables all stakeholders – Barco’s Network Operations Center (NOC), cinema service providers and movie theater owners – to access and manage a wealth of information about their projector network. Using a convenient operational dashboard, exhibitors can target any potential or real problem quickly to ensure uninterrupted service to their customers.
Knowledge is power
“We are breaking new ground in cinema monitoring by empowering exhibitors with the knowledge they need to better control their cinema operations,” comments Bram Dieryckx, Director Product Management for Barco. “Leveraging Axeda’s flexible machine-to-machine (M2M) and IoT data integration and application development platform, we have created a robust application that mirrors the cinema workflow, providing owners with valuable data to help them better anticipate issues and forecast service needs. This proactive approach to remote monitoring enhances reliability and performance to maximize uptime of their projectors across the entire circuit.”
The CineCare Web solution has been operational in theaters since early 2013, with Version 3.0 due for release by the end of this year.
